Mercedes-Benz Expands EQ Electric Lineup for 2026

Mercedes-Benz has announced a significant expansion of its EQ electric vehicle lineup for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to an all-electric future. The German automaker plans to introduce several new models under its EQ brand, featuring next-generation batteries, improved range, and advanced sustainability features.

According to company officials, the upcoming lineup will include the EQC SUV’s second generation, a new EQE crossover, and an entirely new compact electric model designed to compete in the growing mid-range EV market. Each vehicle will be built on the company’s MB.EA platform, a scalable electric architecture optimized for performance, efficiency, and smart connectivity.

Mercedes-Benz aims to achieve up to 800 kilometers (around 500 miles) of range on select models, thanks to advancements in solid-state and lithium-ion battery technology. The vehicles will also support ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing for a 70–80% charge in less than 20 minutes.

Inside, the 2026 EQ lineup will feature the latest MBUX Hyperscreen interface, enhanced AI-driven assistance systems, and upgraded autonomous driving functions. Mercedes has also confirmed that all future EQ models will use sustainably sourced materials and incorporate carbon-neutral production practices as part of its Ambition 2039 initiative.

The company’s CEO, Ola Källenius, stated that the move “marks the next major step in Mercedes-Benz’s journey toward full electrification,” aligning with its goal to become fully electric by the end of the decade where market conditions allow.

With this expansion, Mercedes-Benz continues to position itself as a leader in the global shift to sustainable mobility — combining luxury, innovation, and environmental responsibility in the next generation of electric vehicles.
