European Political Community Summit Held in Copenhagen

On 2 October 2025, Copenhagen hosted the 7th European Political Community (EPC) Summit, bringing together leaders from 43 European countries. The summit served as a key platform for dialogue on shared challenges across the continent, with a particular focus on security, energy, and migration.

The EPC, launched in 2022, is designed to foster political coordination among European states both inside and outside the European Union. The Copenhagen meeting highlighted Europe’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation amid geopolitical tensions, the war in Ukraine, and the growing threat of hybrid attacks, including cyber warfare and disinformation campaigns.

Denmark, as host and current holder of the EU Council Presidency, emphasized the importance of unity in the face of regional instability. Discussions also addressed support for Ukraine, strategies to manage migration pressures, and ways to enhance Europe’s resilience against global economic uncertainties.

Although the EPC does not make binding decisions, the format has become an important forum for building consensus and maintaining dialogue across a diverse group of European states. Observers noted that the 7th summit demonstrated the increasing relevance of the EPC as Europe continues to navigate complex political and security landscapes.

The next EPC summit is expected to continue these discussions, further shaping the role of this relatively new but growing forum in Europe’s political architecture.
